Good morning/afternoon/evening/you-should-be-sleeping-time, everyone!

So we're studying the Greek Myths in my English class and I got to thinking: what if I did an art series, each one featuring one (or a few) of the nine muses? I think it could be fun and an interesting challenge!

In case you're wondering, the Muses are the daughters of the god Zeus and the titaness Mnemosyne. The muses are the goddesses (okay, not exactly goddesses-- we'll call them lesser deities) of various aspects of the arts. Originally, there were only three muses, then four, and finally 9, as recorded by Pausanias in the second century.

The nine muses are as follows:
Calliope: Epic Poetry
Clio: History
Erato: Lyric Poetry
Euterpe: Music
Melpomene: Tragedy
Polyhymnia: Choral Poetry
Terpsichore: Dance
Thalia: Comedy
Urania: Astronomy

So let me know what you think of this idea! <3
